I am participating in 7 Days 2025, a unique cycling event and fundraiser founded in 2012 to increase awareness about pancreatic cancer and to raise much needed funds to help raise the rate of pancreatic cancer survival.

Why am I doing this:

1. As a Family Physician I have attended to many patients over my 30 year career who were unbelievably healthy and yet developed cancer for unknown reasons. I was there at diagnosis, through the treatment phase and sadly during the palliative care and end of life. I have seen huge progress in many cancers but pancreatic cancer remains a deadly diagnosis and I believe more research is needed to change outcomes.

2. On a personal note one of my good buddies (  Arnold) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2023, after going through a huge surgery ( the Whipple) and then multiple rounds of chemo, he is now back playing hockey with the rest of my buddies, cross country skiing in the Gatineau and of course cycling.

3. I love cycling, the challenge of conquering a huge climb, the wind in your face and the joy movement brings to the soul.
