This year, I will be bike riding in support of the 7 Days Pancreatic Cancer, and joining the end of the ride in Guelph, Ontario on June 1st, 2025.
This cause holds special meaning for me:
- I lost my dear brother-in-law / Robbie’s brother Jeff Gray to Pancreatic Cancer in 2022, only three months after his diagnosis. The diagnosis came out of nowhere and was a shock to the entire family from which we will never recover.
- Robbie's Uncles Phil, Harry (Hershy), Louis and Grandfather Max Lazanik died of this horrible disease.
- I am grateful that a significant mentor of mine survived Pancreatic Cancer, a unicorn outcome, through early detection
Pancreatic Cancer is more prevalent than commonly thought, and the medical community needs to find a way to test and detect this form of cancer much sooner so that future patients are given more than just a few months to live.
